Stewardship of the Land A Christian Community Gathering will take place on May 21-23 at Bluestone Camp and Retreat near Hinton, West Virginia. This weekend retreat will include workshops, discussions, outdoor activities, and worship that will inspire us to act as stewards of the land. At the event we will also commission young adults in the Eco-Stewards Program, who will have just completed a week-long training on ecological stewardship principles and practices in West Virginia. Keynote speaker: Joel Salatin of Polyface Farms, a sustainable farmer who was featured in The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan and recent documentaries Food Inc. and Fresh: The Movie. There will be a diverse slate of workshops on a wide range of topics having to do with Land Stewardship and Sustainable Living. Registrants will have an opportunity to select their preferred choices of workshops upon completion of the registration process. Optional Activities: An opportunity for a Whitewater Rafting Trip or a Tour of Several Local Organic Farms can be arranged on Sunday if there is interest (additional fees will apply). Registrants will have the opportunity to indicate their interest upon completion of the registration process. To learn more and register go to http://bluestonecamp.com/eco-retreat.htm.
